informant: John Becker

Birth Place: Austria Hungary
Death Date: 3 Nov 1906
Death Place: Hazle, Luzerne, Pennsylvania, USA

It looks like some things do not match:

_ Anna .... "Immigrated sometime between 1900 and 1903"
_ Michael "Mike" Becker immigrated in 1879, per 1910 & 1920 census

unless he came back to Europe to marry her.

Thank you for your reply! Do you have a site that you found the certificate at so I could view/ save it? I do believe this info lines up with the info that I have.

Regarding:

It looks like some things do not match:

_ Anna .... "Immigrated sometime between 1900 and 1903"
_ Michael "Mike" Becker immigrated in 1879, per 1910 & 1920 census

I do believe he did come here first and then did go back home to marry her and later brought the family over.

Once again thank you so much for your help, I now have a better date range to search for their daughter Theresa. It appears that Anna died during or shortly after childbirth.

Thank you. I did get the email copy of the certificate. What subscription do I need? For this site (because I do have one)  or another one?

Just so you know Anna is my Great Great Grandma on my mom's dad's side. You have been a great help. I will hopefully get some time tonight or tomorrow to dig deeper into what you have sent me!

Ancestry.com

glad I could help.
a few more words:

In 1920 only 3 of Anna's children were still with the family.
Steve & Joseph, 24 & 20 were old enough to be on their own and could leave anytime, but Tillie was only 14.

If it is her in the 1930 census, my guess [only a guess], is that she was put there shortly after 1920 at the urging of her step-mother.
I have found several cases where children from a first marriage were institutionalized, most certainly to erase the memory of the 1st wife.

I have NO proof of all that.

Thank you. I do have a membership on Ancestry. I had been unsuccessful finding the death certificate there. I do have the 1910-1940 Census records. I have tracked the other children on other census records and marriage. Joseph is my Great Grandfather. I do have the names of the other children to the 2nd wife Mary (Miklas). I have not made my way down to Theresa yet to track her as I have been working on the other siblings.

Thank you for sharing your "guess" because whether that is accurate or not its still a hint that I can use as I search. Thank you for your help.
