I really am NOT interested in matches of 7 cMs or even 20. If the match isn't at least 25cM it's a waste of my time. Is there any way to set a minimum level so I'm not continually inundated by notifications of matches to 12th cousins 15 times removed??

Hi,

There is currently no option to set a threshold. However, you can turn off notifications at https://en.geneanet.org/dna/settings

It would be a nice feature to add though, I hope it will receive some consideration. I too have no time for small cM totals (unless I recognize the surname).

I'd want a little more flexibility in the threshold - I'd probably set it at 35cM, for matches with multiple segments, but I'm interested in seeing any segment that's 20cM or more, and not a "pileup". So if a match was only 20cM but that's all in a single segment, I'd want to see it.

Well, I don't want to turn off notifications. I am on multiple sites and I would forget to check and I'd hate to miss a significant match, especially given I have zero matches on my paternal grandmother's side and not much on my paternal grandfathers. Both were immigrants from Poland at the end of the 19th century and searching the databases in Poland is complicated by my total lack of any Polish language skills..

At the same time, when I have matches under 10cM, that just wastes my time.

You can select the type of DNA relationships (all or high (green dot)/medium (orange dot)) to be notified at https://en.geneanet.org/dna/settings but it's actually not possible to set a minimum cM match.
Best wishes,

Well, setting filters to medium and high returned some odd results. I have ONE high match....yet I have medium confidence matches with a higher cM match....I would think that, the higher the DNA match the higher the confidence.

The relationship level is based on the total amount shared. The confidence level is based on segment length. If your match is based on a lot of small segments, odds or IBP or segments inherited from different branches increase. There are a few other factors in determining confidence, but this seems to be the main one.
