Tonight I wanted to update my family tree with the latest data that I found in the past few days.
So, as usual, I went to the link "Import a Gedcom File". But when I now click on this link nothing happens at all. The link doesn't open.
What is the problem and how do I solve this?

What browser/OS are you using? There's a bug in Safari 14 with some older versions of macOS that causes that problem. Try a different browser.

I Cannot import gedcom as I used to do several times before.
After dragging my file to the specified box, I get the following screen
How can I do? any suggestion ?
Many thanks for your help.

It looks like you didn't drop the file on the box itself, bit somewhere else in the window. The browser then understood you wanted to open the gedcom file and did just that.

Instead of dragging the file, try to click "select the file on your computer" when you're on https://my.geneanet.org/arbre/

Are you using Safari 14 by any chance? There is a bug in some versions of that browser with older versions of macOS that creates similar issues. Try rebooting, clearing the cache, and if that doesn't solve it, try another browser.

I am using Chrome, same tree, same genealogy software and have used
this transfer gedcom procedure several times for years.
This time, I cannot load gedcom thru drag in or 'select the file option,
gedcom file is 1,177KB
i have followed your suggestion and
1. cleared the cache on Chrome
2. tried microsoft Edge instead of Chrome
same result !

Do you have Javascript disabled or have you added any Chrome extension that could be interfering?
Edge and Chrome are both built on Chromium, as is Brave, and all 4 browsers work for me. Do you have access to another computer for testing?

What is the name of your GECOM file? What happens when you click "select the file on your computer"?

Hi and thank you for your valuable help.
I have just followed the suggestion of Eric and load my gedcom
on another computer, and it has worked !
From our conversation, I understand the pb on my main computer may comes
from my Java version related with my use of Chrome.
I have recently updated my Java version but I still must check how my Java is not disabled.
I will work on it now.
many thanks
Pascal

Please note that Java and Javascript are 2 completely different languages. They just happen to have similar names. There are very few reasons to use Java in Chrome these days. On the other hand, Javascript is required for most modern websites to function properly.
