Good morning. I'm hoping someone can read 300 year-old Alsatian better than I can!

The two-page "obligation" below is from 1708 for Hans Georg Tschirhart, burger of Mortzwiller. My central question is whether this Hans Georg Tschirhart is the one who died in 1720 (at about age 80), or his son Georg (1685-1729), or perhaps some other Jean Georges Tschirhart.

The son Georges would have been only 23 at the time, and I don't believe he is ever called a "burger," especially so young.

Thank you!
Kevin

Früchten als Mahlkorn.

Sorry, it's a little difficult for me to translate and to explain in english. It's a acknowledgement of debts.
Hans Georg SCHIRARDT from Mortzwiller has to pay to HIRTZ Reinawo the jew from Sultz (Soultz) 340 stebler pounds and 4 viertel cereals as corn
The cereals are the interest.

No more informations about Han Georg TSCHIRART in this text. But in the pages before I found the whole document.
https://en.geneanet.org/archives/registres/view/?idcollection=38581&page=37
Hans Georg SCHIRADT has to pay 170 pound and the half of the interests at St Martin (novembre 11.)and the other half one year later. The document was etablished august 27.
If he could not pay, the caution was the mill with the meadows around, he has in Mortzwiller.

And Hans Georg TSCHIRART the father was the owner of the mill in Mortzwiller in 1708.

Thank you so much, Mya! Jean George Tschirhart is a great-grandfather of mine (several times over), so I am familiar with the article from crhf.net and his stylized plow mark (which appears several times in that same document). Thank you for that, as well.

It so happens that his son George is called a burger later in this document, but he is also called "der junge," so I guessed this one page referred to his father, and I'm glad you were able to confirm. Thank you again.

Warm regards from the wilds of Maine, USA,
Kevin
