Most of my family is deceased. My father had confessed that he left a pregnant girlfriend in the late 1950s to early 1960s in France. I have done DNA testing on ancestry, 23and me, myheritage, gedmatch, Ftdna and posted a few trees. What else can I do? His name was John Jackson

There's not much you can do but wait, and don't expect too much.
1. There is no way to know whether or not the pregnancy went to fruition (abortion or miscarriage are possibilities).
2. "Recreational" DNA testing is illegal in France. That child (now adult) would have to break French law to take those tests. Even without the interdiction, I see that the French are more reluctant to take those tests.

If you know the girlfriend's name and region, and if that name is relatively rare, you might have a better chance looking through the white pages and contacting any potential match. But that's a lot of ifs.

Good luck with your search.
